A custom Temari Cats kimono (with bunnies instead)

This one started with my Temari Cats kimono, but my client had a very specific idea in mind.

She wanted something more kira-kira - brighter, sweeter and a little more magical. So we changed the original colours to a pink and light blue palette and, instead of cats, filled the design with bunnies.

And one of those bunnies is particularly special, it’s a little portrait of her own rabbit.

I really love details like this. It turns a kimono into something personal, with a little piece of your own story in the design.

The traditional temari-inspired elements still keep the Japanese character of the original kimono, but the new colours and bunny motifs give it a completely different personality.

This is exactly why I enjoy making custom kimonos. We can take one of my existing designs and change the colours, motifs or other details to create something that feels like it was made specifically for you.

And yes, your own pet can become part of the design, too. 🩷🩵

If you have an idea for a custom kimono, send me a message. I’d love to hear it.
